The Cal Poly Dance Team is student-run and led by the team's two captains. The team receives some funding from Cal Poly for NCAA-sanctioned events, but CPDT participates in USA Nationals independently from Cal Poly Athletics. Therefore, CPDT must fundraise for expenses including uniforms, shoes, costumes, competition fees, choreographer fees, transportation, and lodging fees.
